That you asked me to go away
It seems like eternity

When I am half-asleep
Dreams of you come to me
And make me happy
Fairies and goblins
Make me a necklace of thoughts of you
Cocooned in my love for you
The day passes by
Thinking and missing you
Thoughts of you are always there
Always near and never so far
Dreamy eyes and silent lips
The heart sends out a silent prayer
And in each moment of the night
I hug my love so tight
As I wait for the wee hours again

Sunshine and Daisies

Girl with the Golden Heart
Lost it one day
to Sunshine itself
There were daisies and rainbows
Happiness her best friend
What happened then
she knew not
emotions were her only friends
when the grey clouds came
and her sun went away
she laughed, she cried, she denied
his absence strangling her every breath
pain her friend
lonliness her companion
she dares not to love anymore
for tears just come and go
sun does not shine for her
and the grey, cold clouds envelope her everyday.

Travelling

I feel myself being watched by myself
A feeling not new to me
I had never imagined it would be
And now what I felt
Felt so different to me
I observed myself as if it were another being
Another life, living and breathing, but me
A life whose musings were not known to me
It felt so different observing yourself from so near
Yet so far
Do birds which fly yonder feel the same,
Or the fish that swims from stream to stream?
‘Tis the feeling of newness when I travel to lands afar
A traveller am I
Awed but not lost by the wonders of the world
As I accustom to the newness of it all
‘Tis only the environment and not me that changes as I move on
And my musings remain with me

Female insecurity or a social stigma
Or a scar on the nation
Women walking, flashing, laughing
And men ogling, shorting and drinking an anklet in a delicate feet
The women tied to a bedpost
Or
Hanging from the ceiling fan
Men smiling unaware
Prodding, pushing, harassing
Tis fear husking behind my thoughts
Tis fear, that I might not
Walk the streets alone
Or wear an anklet in my foot or show a back aglow
To the sinister eyes of man afar
Yet, I calm myself and walk yet shouting in the solitary walls
of my heart and soul.
Alone aloof I stay
Smile, yet sad in a way
For today I heard of another one fall prey
And hang and then in shame I cry
For men destroy the very plants that seed them,
Deep inside me I search for strengths, pray that such men should else!
As I walk hurriedly homebound at times
I die to stand and be with nature
And then the approaching darkness reminds me
Not to stand and smile and do as the birds do
Fly home quickly in the night
